Chris Bowden, Managing Director

Chris Bowden, Director of Marketing Means, is your first point of contact for any queries about what Marketing Means could do for you.  Chris takes responsibility for business development, writes proposals, designs and runs research projects, and writes research reports.  He has been managing director of Marketing Means since 2012.

Moving to pastures new after completing a Ph.D. in gamma ray astronomy, Chris has worked on the agency side of the market research industry since 1994.  He started his career at BMRB International, where he spent seven years, before moving on to join Compass Partnership, Synovate Healthcare, and then ADAS, before joining Devon-based Marketing Means in 2007.  He has great experience of managing surveys of consumers, stakeholders, businesses, and other respondent and organisation types, and of managing these projects for clients in the public, private and voluntary sectors.

Chris has a wealth of experience of all aspects of the research process, from survey design to fieldwork management, to analysis and detailed reporting of both quantitative and qualitative data. He has worked on a wide variety of survey topics, including attitudinal and behavioural research, advertising tracking, communications, and campaign awareness. He has also conducted many research projects based on opinion surveys of residents or customers for Government Agencies and Local Authorities.

Chris holds Ph.D. and B.Sc. degrees, and is a Certified Member of the Market Research Society (CMRS).

Chris is also an ECB Level 2 cricket coach at Cornwood Cricket Club.
